Ojai Tennis Tournament Santa Barbara Sport reviews
Worst concert I've been to--BIG disappointment
"I've never been more disappointed over a show, I don't think. Ojai Tennis Tournament wants to play his new stuff, but honestly, his new stuff is depressing and boring. A couple of songs here and there to add variety to a show, but 2 hours? Plus a boring 1-hour movie? Don't charge $50-$100 per ticket for that. The big difference between Ojai Tennis Tournament and a Bon Jovi or Mick Jagger is that they understand that entertaining your fans is important if you charge $100 per ticket (plus then there is parking, food and in my case a baby sitter--or a $300 night). I prefer positive, upbeat performers with positive messages. Songs can talk about important issues, but have positive moods. I like to feel good at the end of a concert, not bored and angry that I just flushed $300 hard-earned dollars down the drain. Mellancamp is just an angry old man who can't come to grips with who he really is--a multi-millionaire artist, dating Hollywood stars, and hanging out in Martha's Vineyard. He is not a Midwest, small-town guy."
